OUR TMT BRANDS

Two Certified Lines, One Standard

Every diameter is sold under one of two certified TMT brands, both TEMPCORE-quenched and IS 1786:2008 tested before dispatch.

BRAND · SINCE 1993

Elegant Steel, Fe 550D QST Bar

India's No.1 QST bar, rolled at SPS Steels' Durgapur and Purulia units. High-ductility Fe 500D / 550D grade, engineered for superior bond strength, corrosion resistance and earthquake safety, the mark customers look for on every rebar leaving our mills.

WHAT IS IT?

Strong Bones Need Flexible Muscle

Imagine a giant concrete building as a human body. Concrete is like the bones, it is extremely strong when you push down on it, but it can crack easily if pulled or twisted.

TMT (Thermo-Mechanically Treated) steel rebars act like strong muscles inside the concrete. They are steel rods crafted through a unique rapid-cooling heat process that creates a rock-hard outer shell with a flexible, shock-absorbing soft inner core. Every grade and diameter is quenched and self-tempered through the same TEMPCORE process and tested against IS 1786:2008 before it ever leaves the mill, embossed Elegant Steel QST 500D on every rod, the steel that will one day hold up the roof over a family's dinner table.

PRIMARY PURPOSE & BEST USE CASES

Bends, Not Breaks, When the Ground Shakes

TMT bars are placed inside liquid concrete before it sets. Their main job is to bend without breaking when earthquakes, heavy winds, or traffic shake a building.

8 MM & 10 MM

Best used for house floor slabs, balconies, staircases, and small support rings (stirrups).

12 MM & 16 MM

Best used for the main load-bearing vertical columns, floor beams, and ceiling frames of multi-story houses and office buildings.

20 MM, 25 MM & 32 MM

Best used for heavy foundations, high-rise skyscraper pillars, bridge piers, flyovers, and dams.

ON-SITE TESTED

Tied to Spec, Every Time

Every diameter is quenched, self-tempered, and IS 1786:2008 tested before it leaves the mill, then tied on site to the exact spacing and lap length the structural drawing calls for.

WHY CHOOSE OUR TMT BARS?

Steel That Stretches to Save Lives

Our TMT bars carry the official "D" (Ductility) certification, proven on a full-scale seismic simulation bed, not just a lab coupon. That means during an earthquake, instead of snapping suddenly, our steel stretches safely to absorb the earth's energy, giving families precious time to reach safety.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

TMT Bars, Common Questions

What does the "D" in 500D / 550D mean?

It's the official Ductility certification. D-grade bars stretch and absorb energy during an earthquake instead of snapping suddenly, the standard choice for seismic zones.

Which diameter should I use, a column or a slab?

8mm and 10mm suit slabs, balconies and stirrups; 12mm and 16mm suit columns and beams; 20mm to 32mm suit heavy foundations, high-rise pillars, bridges and dams. Talk to our sales team for a structural-drawing-specific recommendation.

Do your TMT bars come with Mill Test Certificates?

Yes, every bulk shipment comes complete with official Mill Test Certificates confirming chemical composition and mechanical strength tests.
